Spot the cues to help you gain consensus

When in times of emotional or mental stress, a mediator is often called upon to resolve sticky situations. Mediators can become more sensitive to both parties’ emotions and feelings by paying attention to their nonverbal behavior and facial expressions.  While being aware of these nonverbal cues, mediators can effectively help the parties reach a consensus and resolve the situation at hand.

  • Understand how people are really feeling vs what they’re saying
  • Being more sympathetic towards how people are feeling
  • Know what people really feel
