MiX will teach you how to recognize microexpressions – facial expressions of emotion that happen when someone tries to conceal or repress their emotion. Everyone has them and unlike regular facial expressions, no one can fake a microexpression. Even though they last only a fraction of a second, anyone can learn to recognize them.

MiX Original Online Training

*The MiX training tool consists of a baseline test, 16 instructional and review videos, a practice test with 42 images and a post test. The training and practice is comparable to METT2 and will help you detect microexpressions.

Unlike the METT 2, MiX allows the user to set the speed of their training. MiX training features over 80 images from six ethnic groups equally representing males and females.

*The MiX Lite training tool consists of a baseline test, 7 instructional videos, 1 practice array and a post test. This lighter version of the MiX training covers the basics of being able to recognize microexpressions in others

How does MiX work?

The training starts with a pre-test so you can assess your natural ability to read emotions. After the pre-test, you’ll proceed through the instruction and practice sessions. MiX includes expressions drawn from six ethnic groups equally representing males and females. You will learn to recognize the microexpressions of anger, fear, disgust, contempt, surprise, sadness, and happiness. Once the training and practice are complete, you’ll take a post-test to see how much you have improved.

If you score at least 80% on the post test at a speed of at least 200msec, you’ll receive a certificate of completion. The better you do on the post test, the better your level of expertise will be on your certificate. You are able to take the post test as many times as you like.
