Our Dangerous Demeanor Detector *patent pending* teaches you to recognize the facial expression of an individual who is likely to immediately become violent.

* The D3 training tool consists of a baseline test, 6 instructional pages, a practice test with 40 images and a post test.

Based on years of research, it was sparked initially by materials provided by the U.S. Secret Service and recently completed with support from the US Department of Defense. Our research has involved law enforcement officers in five very different countries around the world, all of whom have been attacked physically, remembered the face of the attacker, and identified the expression that occurred just moments before the attack. Our data show a high degree of agreement across the cultures and officers on the face of imminent assault.

There may be still other facial expressions that signal a likelihood of violent behavior that we have not yet identified.

Why D3?

The purpose of the tool is to alert you or any potentially vulnerable person of the need to be more on guard, and perhaps take protective action. Hopefully, noting the face of the assault before it happens will allow you to take defensive or evasive action that will result in stopping an attack before it starts.

Who is D3 For?

D3 is for anyone who might be in harms way:

Law Enforcement Officers

Investigators

Interrogators

Protective Services Agents

Emergency Room Personnel

Firemen and Women

EMTs

Closed Mental Hospital Ward personnel

Anyone who could benefit from a warning that there is a threat of immediate physical harm.

How does D3 Work?

This tool teaches you to recognize those faces very quickly. It consists of four parts: There is a pre-test, to assess your ability before the instruction.

An instructional section, where you learn what the dangerous faces look like, and how to discriminate them from other faces.

A practice section, where you practice making those discriminations.

A post-test, to assess whether your ability to recognize dangerous faces improved.

At the end of the test, you will be able to see and compare your scores from the pre- and post-tests. And for those scoring 80% or higher accuracy in the post-test, you will be able to print an official certificate of completion for the training.
