Ellen Wright 10-29-13

 The FACS codes for Ellen’s picture are as follows:   1B + R2B + L2D + 5E + R14B + 20C + 25

I like this one because it is like puzzlement and fear blended together.  It’s difficult to get that much upper eyelid raise in a fake expression (though not impossible and certainly possible for many people),noted Dr. Matsumoto.

What are your observations/comments on Ellen’s photo?

  1. Aaron Ahearn says:

appears to fear, but it also appears that she has suffered from a stroke in the past so the expression is only showing on the one side of her face

  2. Aaron – thank you for your comment. It is important to note that this is a posed expression and that posed expressions are generally not symmetrical on the face.
As far a a possible stroke, we do not have that information regarding this submission but it is a possibility.
